A son's tribute

We lost our amazing Mum, Jill, last week
She had been ill for a while and it's been tough having her here but not being her true self.
Mum was a force for good. An endless source of love, support, wisdom and warmth. The best parts of me come from my Mum.
I hope she knows how proud we were to have her as our Mum. I'll miss her every minute of every day.
Some memories of my Mum:
As kids, she used to take my sister and me to London. Showing us the sights and a world beyond suburbia. This meant more to me than she could know.
She loved Erasure and we grew up listening to them at home and in most car journeys.
She made sure we never went without - be that summer holiday activities, music lessons (I still have my trumpet!) or karate every Wednesday.
She created massive Christmas stockings for us as kids. Left outside our bedroom doors, they were the size of a toddler. Packed full of small gifts, wrapped so tightly that each present took about five minutes to unwrap.
She always stuffed money into your pocket after a visit. "Buy yourself something nice", "Go out for a drink/some dinner".
When baking, she always let us 'lick the bowl' and on one occasion, after, I suspect incessant whining, eat the whole mixture
She rode a motorbike
She didn't eat garlic, pizza, pasta or any spices. She loved rice puddings, custard and Knickerbocker glories
She was amazing.
